NME AND BLACKBERRY HIT THE ROAD TO LAUNCH THE ULTIMATE TOURING MUSIC QUIZ

October 28, 2008

NME Blackberry Flier Tearing through 12 university towns this November, NME and BlackBerry present The NME Big Quiz supported by BlackBerry – a unique touring quiz night from two of the most innovative brands in the UK.

BlackBerry and NME – famous for its authoritative music coverage – will be touring union bars to test the music knowledge of UK students with the ultimate music quiz, hosted by comedian Simon Bird – star of E4s The Inbetweeners.

Up for grabs is a prize fund of over £20,000 including BlackBerry smartphones, gig vouchers, music downloads and albums.

The month-long partnership will include BlackBerry advertorials in the pages of the magazine, and sponsorship of NME.COM's hugely popular online quiz. NME.COM is also creating a microchannel, providing information about the tour.

Rob Hunt, Ignite Sponsorship & Brand Solutions manager, says: “We're really pleased to be working with BlackBerry on this unique touring quiz. It's a unique partnership and BlackBerry's new smartphones are seriously cool, so it's great that we can give some away to our loyal readers.”

BlackBerry marketing manager Eric Karsenty adds: “BlackBerry has a range of smartphones that students will love, so we're really pleased to be working with NME on the Big Quiz. With our new handsets you can use instant messaging, surf Facebook, watch films, listen to music, keep up with your e-mails and even phone people! It will make organising uni life a lot easier, but will possibly provide one less excuse to miss a lecture.”
